Aquatic microbiota in or near nuclear facilities

The SCK•CEN Academy for Nuclear Science and Technology organizes a Topical Day on “Aquatic microbiota in or near nuclear facilities: insights, discoveries and solutions” on September 12, 2019 in the Bedford Hotel, Brussels, Belgium.

The aim of this Topical Day is to provide an interdisciplinary forum for exchanging ideas and discussing recent results related to microbial communities in or near nuclear facilities with the participation of experienced and young scientists working in this area. Special attention will be given to the bioremediation of radionuclides released to the immediate environment, the design of countermeasures to overcome biofouling, and new methodologies in the microbial community analysis of aquatic biotopes.
